WIPP Employee Inducted Into Mine Rescue Hall of Fame - WIPP Teams Recognized at National Competition

CARLSBAD, N.M., August 2, 2013 - Long-time Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) employee Gary Kessler was inducted into the Metal/Non-Metal National Mine Rescue Hall of Fame on Aug. 1, 2013 at the biennial mine rescue competition in Reno, Nevada.

DOE Moab Site Cost-Effectively Eliminates 200 Million Gallons of Contaminated Ground Water

Grand Junction, CO ― The Department of Energy (DOE) announced today that it has extracted 200 million gallons of contaminated ground water from the Moab site in Utah as part of the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action Project.

Hanford Site Treating Record Amount of Contaminated Groundwater

RICHLAND, Wash. - U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) contractor CH2M HILL Plateau Remediation Company (CH2M HILL) has exceeded this year’s goal for treating 1.4 billion gallons of contaminated groundwater at the Hanford Site in Washington state.
