CARLSBAD, N.M., October 29, 2012 – The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently recognized four initiatives at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) and more than 20 people for improvements in energy, water and fleet efficiency while reducing pollution and waste across the DOE complex.

largest, most complex pieces of equipment from the Plutonium Finishing Plant (PFP) at the Hanford Site in southeast Washington State.

DOE Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Legacy Star award.
RICHLAND -- The Department of Energy’s Office of River Protection (ORP), working with its Hanford tank operations contractor Washington River Protection Solutions, has determined that
there is a slow leak of chemical and radioactive waste into the annulus space in Tank AY-102, the approximately 30-inch area between the inner primary tank and the outer tank that serves as
the secondary containment for these types of tanks.
Cincinnati - The Department of Energy today awarded a Task Order to KPMG, LLP of McLean, VA for audit/review services that will cover a wide range of auditing services. These services will include: pricing proposals, requests for equitable adjustment, change order proposals, business systems (accounting, purchasing and billing systems), forward pricing rates, incurred costs audits, and terminations. Individual subtask orders will be placed for each specific assignment as needed from October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013. The total not-toexceed value of the task order is $2,993,733.00.
Cincinnati - The Department of Energy today awarded a cooperative agreement to the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) to continue efforts to engage states and to work collaboratively to solve continued challenges posed by waste management and cleanup at DOE sites.
Cincinnati - The Department of Energy (DOE) today awarded a contract to Terranear PMC of Irving, TX, a small-disadvantaged business under the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Program for waste handling services at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The contract has a one-year performance period with a $2 million approximate value.
Cincinnati – The Department of Energy (DOE) today awarded a task order (contract) to CDM, A Joint Venture, of Fairfax, Virginia, to provide environmental remediation services for the Energy Technology Engineering Center at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory, Canoga Park, California. The cost-plus incentive fee task order has a 36-month performance period and a value of $11.3 million.
CINCINNATI – The Department of Energy (DOE) today awarded a task order (contract) to Chenega Global Services, LLC of Anchorage, Alaska, for administrative and technical support services at the West Valley Demonstration Project, West Valley, New York. The contract has a one-year performance period with a value of $1.3 million, and contains two one-year extension options with a total value of $4.12 million. Chenega Global Services is a certified small and disadvantaged business under the Small Business Administration.
