AMO Partner ORNL Wins Big at R&D 100 Awards

Researchers at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory received six R&D 100 awards at last week's ceremony sponsored by R&D Magazine. Two of the projects, The Big Area Additive Manufacturing-CI system (BAAM-CI) and Genoa 3D Printing Simulation Software, were funded by the Department of Energy's Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) in partnership with ORNL. BAAM-CI also received an Editor's Choice award from R&D Magazine.

WORKSHOP: High Value Roll to Roll Manufacturing Innovation – December 2-3

The Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) will host a workshop at the Westin Alexandria on December 2-3, 2015. This two-day workshop will focus on the topic of High Value Roll to Roll (HV R2R) Manufacturing Innovation. Categories for discussion include Advanced Deposition Processing and Printing, Unique Metrology and Quality Systems, and Continuous Processing/Process Development Needs.

Energy Optimized Desalination Technology Workshop – Presentations Now Available

The Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and Office of Fossil Energy hosted a workshop on Energy Optimized Desalination Technology Development on November 5-6, 2015. The workshop brought together leading technical experts in desalination to discuss pathways to accelerate the research, development and deployment of promising desalination approaches for fresh-water at lower energetic, economic, and environmental costs relative to existing technologies.

WEBINAR: Sustained Energy Savings Achieved Through Successful Industrial Customer Interaction with Ratepayer Programs - December 10

Sandy Glatt with the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) will present a summary of a recent SEE Action publication titled "Sustained Energy Savings Achieved Through Successful Industrial Customer Interaction with Ratepayer Programs: Case Studies".

This informative webinar presentation will discuss the experiences of large manufacturing companies that benefited from participation in its utility energy efficiency program offerings. Rick Pettibone, senior energy advisor with Franklin Energy, will also share his behind-the-scenes experience helping industrial companies find success in achieving energy savings in partnership with utility programs.
