Project Description

The Aroostook Band of Micmacs is composed of about 1,000 members living within Aroostook County, located in northern Maine. The nation lives in an area with some of the highest energy costs in the United States. The goal of the project is to develop a strategic energy plan in order to reduce energy costs in the nation's government buildings and homes. The untapped resources are wind and biomass energy. The scope of the work will involve the formation of an energy committee, research and education on baseline energy use and energy opportunities, and development of an energy vision and an action plan.
