DOE is soliciting comment and data on a variety of issues related to the physical characterization of smart and grid-connected commercial and residential buildings end-use equipment and appliances. To inform interested parties and to facilitate this data-gathering process, DOE will hold a public meeting, in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). The objectives of the meeting will be:

  • Discuss issues concerning the physical characterization of smart and grid-connected commercial and residential buildings end-use equipment and appliances, including but not limited to processes and metrics for measurement, identification of grid and building services that can be provided, and identification of values and benefits of grid connectivity.
  • Gain input from interested parties identifying other topics related to smart and grid-connected equipment, stakeholder groups to engage, and published work and studies related to these issues.

Public Meeting Information

DOE held a public meeting on April 30, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mountain Standard Time, in Golden, Colorado at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), San Juan Room Conference Room, on the South Table Mountain Campus, 15013 Denver West Parkway, Golden, CO 80401. At the meeting, approximately 150 seats will be available for the public. Pre-registration is required to attend the meeting. Visitors to the NREL site are required to pre-register to be admitted.  See 79FR19322 for more information.
