The U.S. Department of Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) invites students, researchers, public and private organizations, and members of the general public to submit poster abstracts for consideration for the annual Biomass Conference Poster Session. The Biomass 2014 conference theme focuses on topics that are advancing the growth of the bioeconomy, such as improvements in feedstock logistics; promising, innovative pathways for advanced biofuels; and market-enabling co-products.

Submitters of accepted abstracts will informally present their posters during the Poster Session, and will be recognized throughout the conference, Tuesday, July 29–Wednesday, July 30.

Poster Session Topics

Topics of interest include advancements in biomass feedstock development; supply and logistics; bioproducts and biochemicals; conversion and separations technologies; algal biofuels; hydrocarbon drop-in biofuels; environmental and social impacts and sustainability; techno-economic analysis; policy analysis; global sustainable development; and increased renewable energy availability.

Poster Session Guidelines

  • Selected posters will have a maximum size requirement of 3' x 4'.
  • A general template and additional details will be provided to selected presenters.

Poster Abstract Selection Criteria

  • Validity and technical merit of the approach
  • Applicability to BETO activities and the Biomass 2014 bioeconomy theme
  • Clear description of motivation, methods, results, and conclusions

Poster Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract describing the proposed poster and research focus (not to exceed 200 words)
  • Curriculum vitae for the principal author(s)

BETO will notify poster submitters of the acceptance of their posters on a rolling basis.
