Biomass 2009: Fueling Our Future was held on March 17 and 18, 2009, at Gaylord National Harbor in National Harbor, Maryland.

More than 600 participants from industry, finance, government, and academia were in attendance, including several large and small biofuels producers. The conference included plenary sessions as well as smaller breakout sessions focused on sustainability, commercialization, advanced biofuels technologies, regulation and policy, and international outlook.

The conference featured keynote and guest speakers, including Representative Roscoe Bartlett and Senator Benjamin Nelson. Rep. Bartlett and Sen. Nelson discussed the role of biofuels in the U.S. energy portfolio and the policy and R&D required for future advances.

Biomass 2009 consisted of five technical tracks: sustainability, advanced biofuels, regulation and policy, international outlook, and biofuels commercialization.
