The Department’s efforts brought it closer to its goals of:

  • expanding the frontiers of science (science, discovery and innovation)
  • creating clean energy jobs (economic prosperity)
  • curbing the carbon pollution that threatens our planet (clean, secure energy)
  • reducing nuclear dangers (national security)

FY 2010 was the second year of implementing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act). The Department contributed to the Administration’s goal of stimulating the U.S. economy through ramping up its activities in energy-related areas of spending, project performance, and job creation.
