The Worker Safety and Health Policy Clarification Portal (PC Portal) is a service maintained by the Office of Worker Safety and Health Policy, EHSS-11, within the Office of Health and Safety, EHSS-10. The PC Portal provides workers from across the DOE complex the opportunity to submit questions regarding worker safety and health policy. EHSS-11 answers these questions, called “technical clarifications”, and they represent the best available technical knowledge at the time. These technical clarifications are NOT binding upon DOE as official policy.
Technical clarifications should only be applied to the specific conditions described in the question and answer and do not represent approval of a variance, exemption, or equivalency from any requirements.
