DOE’s Western Area Power Administration (Western) is preparing an EA to analyze the potential environmental impacts of a proposal to rebuild and upgrade two parallel 4.8-mile transmission lines between Gila and North Gila Substations and take actions in support of portions of Arizona Public Service’s construction of a new, 12.8 mile 230-kV transmission line between North Gila and a proposed substation in Yuma County, Arizona. Western anticipates that the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be cooperating agencies.
