Department of Justice: CH2M Hill Hanford Group Inc. Admits Criminal Conduct, Parent Company Agrees to Cooperate in Ongoing Investigation and Pay $18.5 Million to Resolve Civil and Criminal Allegations

The Justice Department, in conjunction with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington, announced today that Colorado-based CH2M Hill Hanford Group Inc. (CHG) and its parent company, CH2M Hill Companies Ltd. (CH2M Hill) have agreed that CHG committed federal criminal violations, defrauding the public by engaging in years of widespread time card fraud.

CARLSBAD, N.M. – The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced today that Nuclear Waste Partnership LLC (members comprised of URS Energy & Construction, Inc., of Boise, Idaho, and Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Group, Inc., of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Major Subcontractor, AREVA Federal Services LLC, of Bethesda, Maryland) has been awarded a $1.3 billion contract for management and operating (M&O) at DOE’s Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

DOE Awards Contract for Moab Mill Tailings Cleanup

Cincinnati– The Department of Energy (DOE) announced today that it has awarded a competitive small business contract worth $121.2 million over the next five years as part of the
Department’s continued efforts to protect the Colorado River and downstream water users by removing uranium tailings at the former Atlas uranium-ore processing facility in Moab, Utah.
Portage, Inc., a small business based in Idaho Falls, Idaho, will be leading the new contract.
