The Smart Grid Interoperability Panel will lead a 24-month stakeholder and engagement management project focused on identifying inefficiencies in data exchanges. This project will formulate data exchange requirements and help integrate data standards across the solar project lifecycle, while still focusing on bolstering and enabling private sector momentum to create a financially self-sustaining data ecosystem. It will also address consumer data protection standards.

APPROACH

The Smart Grid Interoperability Panel aims to bring at 60% of solar industry stakeholders to a consensus on data standards for high-impact activities, reducing the time and costs related to deploying solar, while helping to create a market for solar energy data. The project will focus on building working groups within the industry in order to reach an agreement.

INNOVATION

The project uses an open and transparent industry-led process across the entire solar project value chain and involves multiple industry players. Industry stakeholders hope to integrate data standards across a solar project’s life cycle, while still focusing on strengthening and enabling private sector momentum to create a financially self-sustaining data ecosystem.
