Funding Opportunity:  SSL R&D Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) (DE-FOA-0001364)

Project Objective

This project will demonstrate a way to increase the outcoupling of simple white OLEDs while maintaining a high color rendering index, by disrupting the internal waveguiding, using a unique and innovative corrugation pattern.

Project Impact

This project addresses one of the major technological problems remaining for OLED lighting: reducing the amount of light that gets trapped in the device. Trapped light is not only wasted energy; it also creates heat that can cause material degradation.
