BUSTIN' MAKES ME FEEL GOOD
Spooked by the ghosts and goblins of energy inefficiency? In this special episode of Direct Current, we talk with Josh Olsen, an “Energy Ghostbuster" from our Weatherization Assistance Program. He provides tips on how to keep from being haunted by your energy bill and trick-or-treat yourself to energy savings.
Are Energy Vampires Lurking in your home?
While trick or treaters are roaming the streets in search of screams and sweets this Halloween, a hidden terror could already be lurking in your home. We’re talking about energy vampires -- evil ghouls that suck electrical power from your appliances when you aren’t using them, taking a big bite out of your wallet.
For 40 years, the Energy Department's Weatherization Assistance Program has helped more than 7 million low-income families save energy and money by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. The program provides grants to states, territories, and Indian tribes who contract with local governments and nonprofit agencies to provide weatherization services to those in need using the latest technologies for home energy upgrades.
