Federal Government Progress Toward Energy Intensity Reduction Goal

The U.S. federal government is required to apply energy conservation measures to improve the design and construction of its federal buildings so building energy intensity, which is measured in British thermal units per gross square foot, is reduced by 2.5% annually through the end of fiscal year (FY) 2025, relative to the baseline of the agency's building energy use in FY 2015.
