City of Charleston - CharlestonWISE Program (South Carolina)

CharlestonWISE is an energy efficiency program for homeowners within the City of Charleston. The program offers up to $500 in instant rebates on completed home performance improvements for qualified residential customers on top of rebates available from local utility companies. Home performance improvements must be performed by a participating contractor.

CharlestonWISE is supported by partnerships with the City of Charleston, Abundant Power and the Sustainability Institute.

AIKEN, S.C. – EM issued an amended Record of Decision (ROD) to the Savannah River Site (SRS) Spent Nuclear Fuel Environmental Impact Statement to expand the operations of the H-Canyon Facility at SRS to support a major nuclear non-proliferation goal and save taxpayer dollars.

"TRU" Success: SRS Recovery Act Prepares to Complete Shipment of More Than 5,000 Cubic Meters of Nuclear Waste to WIPP

With the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding, Savannah River Site (SRS) continues to safely treat and
dispose of radioactive waste created while producing materials for nuclear weapons throughout the Cold War. The DOE site in Aiken, S.C., is safely, steadily, and cost-effectively making progress to analyze, measure, and then carefully cleanup or dispose of legacy transuranic (TRU) waste remaining at SRS after the lengthy nuclear arms race.
