The MPower Custom Rebate Program is available to larger commercial, industrial or agricultural customers that replace existing equipment or systems with high efficiency equipment. To be eligible for this program, replacement projects must meet the following requirements:
- Reduce electrical energy usage,
- Operate for a minimum of 5 years after installation,
- Not be completed prior to submitting an application,
- Be completed within one year of submitting an application,
- Not be otherwise eligible for an MID MPower Business Rebate.
Applicants may be subject to a pre-installation inspection and post-installation inspection of project area and equipment. For projects that qualify for a rebate of $10,000 or more the savings estimate must be reviewed and stamped by a State of California licensed engineer. There is also a minimum rebate amount of $250. The rebate does not apply to new construction. For specific program details and instructions on how to apply, customers should download the custom rebate catalog located on the program web site.
Almost any project that involves the replacement of existing equipment with high efficiency equipment may be eligible for the rebate.
