Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, through the Take Control and Save program, offers rebates for cooperative members who purchase efficient geothermal and dual fuel heat pumps, and electric water heaters. Water heaters must have an efficiency standard of 90% to qualify for the $50 incentive. Geothermal heat pumps are eligible for a $750/ton rebate if being installed for the first time, and for a $150/ton rebate if they are replacing an existing geothermal heat pump. Replacement of an existing geothermal heat pump must be necessary due to failure of the previous unit, and must achieve a gain in efficiency of at least 3 EER. Dual fuel Air-source heat pumps, with supplemental gas or propane heat, can receive a $150/ton rebate. Heat pump installations which receive rebates may be subject to Cuivre River Electric Cooperative's load control program. Water Heater: must have Energy Factor of 0.90 or higher
Geothermal Heat Pumps: must be Energy Star rated with a minimum EER of 19.1
Dual Fuel Air-source Heat Pumps: must be part of a dual fuel system; must be Energy Star rated; minimum SEER of 16.5
