The Ames Electric Department provides free energy audits and multiple energy efficiency rebates for commercial and industrial customers. The rebate programs available include The Appliance Rebate Program, The High Efficiency Heat Pump Program, The Power Factor Correction Rebate Program, and the High Efficiency Lighting Program. All programs require that the customer submit a completed application form within 30 days of equipment installation. Clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, power factor correction equipment, light fixtures, sensors and custom measures are eligible for rebates under this program. Lighting rebates differ between general commercial customers and large commercial and industrial customers. Rebate payments will not exceed the maximum incentives listed above.
