| U.S. Department of Energy Official to Host Press Conference on new Report Outlining Potential of Wind Power in our Nation’s Clean Energy Future | |||||||||
| WASHINGTON, DC – This afternoon U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Alexander (Andy) Karsner will host a press conference at the National Press Club to unveil a new report outlining the technical feasibility of wind power in providing 20 percent of our nation’s electricity needs by 2030.
Wind power is a critical component of the Bush Administration’s long-term strategy to increase our nation’s energy and economic security through the research, development and deployment of clean, cutting-edge technologies. DOE is partnering with the private sector to diversify our nation’s energy supply and fundamentally change the way we power our homes, businesses and vehicles.
