The Oak Ridge Site Specific Advisory Board (ORSSAB) and the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Oak Ridge Environmental (EM) Program recognized a retiring member at its June meeting. ORSSAB member Scott McKinney is leaving the board in July after three years of service.

“I thank you for your service to the board and want to acknowledge your contributions,” said Susan Cange, the Deputy Designated Federal Officer for ORSSAB and the acting manager of the DOE Oak Ridge EM Program. “We have benefitted from your dedication and service and we appreciate it very much. “During his time on the board Scott served as the chair of the Public Outreach Committee, devoting a great amount of time to promote that asset of the board,” said Cange in presenting a plaque of appreciation to McKinney at the board’s June meeting. McKinney also served on the Executive Committee and the former Stewardship Committee.

“I’m grateful to DOE for giving me the opportunity to represent my community on a board with such an important mission,” said McKinney. “It was a privilege to work alongside citizen representatives from the surrounding communities who volunteered their time to serve on the board and work on a number of quality committees.”

Board chair Dave Hemelright also thanked McKinney for his time. “It’s been a real pleasure to work with you and we’re really going to miss you. Thank you for your service to the board, your energy, and your good spirits.” McKinney of Knoxville is employed by AECOM as vice president and senior program manager responsible for global service delivery for oil and gas clients.
