Statement of Patricia Hoffman, Acting Assistant Secretary for Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, before the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats, Cyber Security and Science and Technology, Committee on Homeland Security of the U.S. House of Representatives, July 21, 2009, regarding common concern that vulnerabilities exist within the electric system and that the Department of Energy, in partnership with the rest of the Federal Government and industry, should address the full spectrum of events, from high‐impact, low‐probability (HILP) to high‐impact, high‐probability.
