On Friday, July 11, the Department of Energy will host a public meeting in Portland, Oregon, to gather public comments on the Quadrennial Energy Review. This meeting will focus specifically on issues associated with electricity transmission, storage and distribution in the western United States. Agenda highlights include:
- 9 a.m. PST: The meeting will kick off with opening remarks by Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman.
- 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. PST: Invited guests will participate in panel discussions about transmission and distribution issues before breaking for lunch.
- 1 p.m. PST: A final panel discussion on energy storage will take place.
- 2:15 p.m. PST: The public will be invited to comment during an open period. All comments will be on the record.
