The DOE-funded Power Systems Engineering Research Center (PSERC) is offering a free public webinar presenting the challenges of the protection of converter interfaced generation and associate circuits and components. The webinar will discuss these issues, and present the Estimation Based Protection (EBP) method, the integration of the method with the inverter controls and supplementary controls for the purpose of increasing the reliability of these systems. Several examples will be provided, which compare the proposed protection method with traditional protection functions and inverter control performance improvements enabled with the proposed supplementary controls.

The webinar will be presented by Sakis Meliopoulos, who holds the Georgia Power Distinguished Professorship at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is also the PSERC site director for Georgia Tech and the director for CPS of the newly formed Institute for Information Security and Privacy,

The webinar will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 2-3 p.m. ET. No pre-registration is necessary.

For more information and details on logging into the webinar, please see the announcement (PDF) or visit PSERC's website.
