The City of Jacksonville would implement a Clean Demonstration Program at the Tree Hill Nature Center (7152 Lone Star Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32211), as well as install solar hot water heaters at 30 neighborhood fire stations. The Demonstration project would consist of the installation of a 10 kilowatt photovoltaic (PV) system, along with the installation of a groundwater-based geothermal heating and cooling system which would retrofit the Center's existing heating and cooling system. The geothermal installation would be limited to two 5-ton open-loop systems. Additionally, the City would install solar hot water heating systems at 30 neighborhood fire stations throughout the Duval County area.
