Hendry County proposes to use federal funds to create the Hendry County Sustainable Biofuels Center and initiate its programs. The Center will develop methods to evaluate natural resources, provide sustainability assessments, develop biomass farming and fuel systems, create ecosystem service opportunities, prepare potential south Floridians for employment in the biomass industry, and assist business and government design sustainable biofuels projects.
