Summary

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) prepared an EIS for the Port Arthur LNG and Pipeline Projects. Port Arthur LNG, LLC, PALNG Common Facilities Company, LLC (collectively Port Arthur LNG), and Port Arthur Pipeline, LLC, requested authorization (FERC Docket Nos. CP17-20-000, CP17-21-000, CP17-21-001 and CP18-7-000) to site, construct, and operate liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facilities and certain interstate, natural gas transmission pipeline facilities in Eunice Parish and Cameron Parish, Louisiana, and Orange and Jefferson Counties, Texas.

DOE was a cooperating agency in preparing the EIS and has adopted the EIS. DOE, Office of Fossil Energy, has an obligation under Section 3 of the Natural Gas Act to authorize the import and export of natural gas, including LNG, unless it finds that the import or export is not consistent with the public interest.
