Summary

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) prepared an environmental assessment (EA) that examines the potential environmental impacts of a proposal to construct additional natural gas liquefaction and export facilities at the existing Cameron Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal in Cameron and Calcasieu Parishes, Louisiana.  The EIS of the original expansion of the Cameron Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal can be found at: /nepa/eis-0488-cameron-liquefaction-project-cameron-parish-louisiana

DOE was a cooperating agency in preparing the EA and adopted the EA by reference in its July 15, 2016, Finding of No Significant Impact. DOE, Office of Fossil Energy, has an obligation under Section 3 of the Natural Gas Act to authorize the import and export of natural gas, including LNG, unless it finds that the import or export is not consistent with the public interest.
