Killdeer to Mountain Transmission Project
McKenzie Electric Cooperative (MEC), through Upper MIssouri Generation and Transmission Electric Cooperative (UMGT), has applied to the U.S. Department of Energy Western Power Administration (Western) for a new electrical interconnection. This project would require the construction of temporary interconnection (Killdeer interconnection) at Western's Killdeer Substation and a new 115-kilovolt (kV) transmission live which would extend about 13 miles northward from Western Killdeer's Substation to a new MEC Mountain Substation, all in Dunn County, North Dakota.
