The Department of Energy will prepare an environmental assessment and hold public scoping meetings on the proposed Federal action of granting a Presidential permit to Baja Wind U.S. Transmission, LLC to construct a new electric transmission lien at the U.S.-Mexico border in San Diego county, California. [Note: Based on comments received during the scoping period, DOE ended preparation of DOE/EA-1608 and announced its intent to prepare an environmental impact statement, DOE/EIS-0414.]
