The U.S. DOE is proposing to provide federal funding to Columbia Power Technologies, Inc. (CPT) to conduct research and development activities to advance the ocean deployment of a utility-scale version of CPT's next generation wave energy converter prototype. DOE funding would be used for wave tank testing, environmental forces and load analysis, design, and other information gathering activities associated with the deployment of the proposed prototype. No ocean deployment is permitted under this NEPA determination.
