Acquisition of technical services to design a new wood-fired biomass boiler (approximately 8.0 million British thermal units per hour (MMbtu/hr) fuel input) that would be designed to serve the Grafton County Complex that includes a nursing home, courthouse, administrative building, community corrections building, and maintenance/farm building. This boiler will require an air permit issued by the state of New Hampshire, and the location is in an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) air quality attainment area. The boiler would replace existing boilers and space heaters and result in fuel use avoidance of approximately 113,000 gallons of fuel oil and 2,300 gallons of propane per year. Remaining funds from the engineering design would be used toward purchase of the Biomass Construction System package.
