The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) provided funding Pinellas County, Florida under DOE's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program. Pinellas proposes to use a portion of the funding to perform a feasibility study and drill two geothermal test wells.
