The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) provided funding to the American Samoa Government Territorial Energy Office under DOE's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program. The American Samoa Government Territorial Energy Office is proposing to use $500,000 of that funding for the "Improving Recycling Capacity and Solid Waste Education in American Samoa" project.
