Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) proposes to address five surface impairments that were identified on the 345-kilovolt (kV) McNary-Ross No. 1 transmission line. At these locations, the distance from the conductor to the ground surface does not have adequate clearance for operation at 70?C. BPA proposes to re-shape the existing ground surface in these areas to achieve adequate clearance. The proposed work would allow BPA?s McNary-Ross No. 1 transmission line to meet current National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards for operation at 70?C.
