Research and development engineering routinely supports Saltstone with the development and testing of differing pieces of equipment. Required for the testing of many of these pieces of equipment is the pouring, curing, and handling of grout mixtures including drilling, breaking, mixing (dry and wet), and pumping (dry and wet). Some of the testing will require that large forms of grout be poured and allowed to cure. When work is completed with the grout simulants, they will be disposed of in approved landfills.
