Southeastern Oklahoma State University is proposing to use $500,000 in State Energy Program American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding to cover the incremental costs of increasing the efficiency of the existing central plant chillers. The proposed project includes the following energy efficiency measures: 1) Engineering necessary for preliminary design, inspections, code compliance, training, and project delivery; 2) Air handling unit modifications to improve energy efficiency; 3) Building valve replacements to enhance system efficiency; 4) Balancing chilled water flows to improve efficiency; 5) Pumping modifications to increase energy efficiency; 6) Variable frequency drive installations on new condenser pumps and cooling tower fans to cut energy use; 7) Control system installation comprising a new server and new controls needed to implement demand flow and thereby cut energy use; 8) Cooling tower replacement with a more energy efficient unit; 9) Chiller modifications and replacement with a more energy efficient unit; 10) Commissioning to verify correct operation and achievement of energy savings.
