Recovery Act: Experiment-Based Model for the Chemical Interactions between Geothermal Rocks, Supercritical Carbon Dioxide and Water
CX(s) Applied: A9, B3.6
Date: 08/05/2010
Location(s): Palo Alto, California
Office(s): Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Golden Field Office
Palo Alto Research Center, Incorporated (PARC) would design and develop a geochemical model that stimulates an Enhanced Geothermal System reservoir. The model would develop a foundation in theory and measurement of physical and chemical interactions between minerals, rocks, supercritical carbon dioxide, and water. The work would take place at the existing PARC facility located at 3333 Coyote Hill Road, Palo Alto, California 94304.
