Flathead Electric Co-op would re-work an existing geothermal well to explore greater depths for 165 degrees Fahrenheit waters adequate to generate up to 10 megawatts of power through low temperature binary cycle generation. The existing well was drilled in 1982 to a depth of 261 feet encountering temperatures as high as 135 degrees Fahrenheit. The only laboratory work anticipated is water sampling analysis that would be done at local laboratories.
