The City of Lafayette, Georgia is proposing to use $300,000 in Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) funding for the purchase and installation of mechanical and electrical controls directly related to the air injection system for a new, post-aeration project at an existing waste water treatment plant. The retrofit to be funded by the $300,000 EECBG will consist of the addition of an air diffuser system with associated piping and air blowers, along with required electrical power wiring, controls and mechanical systems, all in a 25 foot by 12 foot masonry blower building. The remainder of the project including the construction of the concrete basin, small block building to house the blowers and electrical controls, an outfall pipe and flume, and related minor work is budgeted at $450,000 to be funded by the City.
