Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program. The Town of Plymouth proposes to 1) hire a technical consultant to assist in developing an energy efficiency and conservation strategy and help secure and identify additional funding sources; 2) replace the boiler systems at the West Plymouth Fire Station and the Main Fire Station; 3) replace the water pump and motor at the Darby Pond Well with an energy efficiency unit; 4) update outdated pneumatic thermostats at Cold Spring School, Hedge School, and Town Hall; 5) replace inefficient lighting with energy efficient lighting at the South Street Public Library; 6) re-commission the boiler, condensate return system, thermostatic valves, and steam traps; install controlled steam zone valves with occupancy sensors to maximize energy savings when unoccupied; adopt a formal steam trap program in which traps will be replaced with latest technology and tagged for regular scheduled maintenance at Memorial Hall; and 7) install an approximate 8 kilowatt photovoltaic system on the roof of the Plymouth Fire Department and install an approximate 4 kilowatt photovoltaic system on the roof of the Public Library.
