The State of Kansas (Kansas Corporation Commission) would utilize Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funds to: 1) fund research projects involving computer and laboratory-based activities in the area of electrical computer engineering to improve the utilization of wind energy technology, and 2) fund the refurbishment of a Zond 750 wind turbine (750 kilowatt capacity) recently donated by a local utility to Kansas State University. As funds remain available, they would be used to support the environmental evaluation associated with the future installation of the wind turbine.
