The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity will use $756,000 of Recovery Act funds to support manufacturing upgrades at the James Hardie Building Products facility in Peru, Illinois. The funds will be used to purchase and install equipment to palletize off-specification fiber cement trim boards, cut boards into decorative mouldings, and recycle associated dust. The equipment will be installed within the existing facility. The work will not involve new construction or a change in operation permits.
