Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) for: The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Programs will involve two primary efforts. The first is a baseline environmental assessment to assess current conditions and establish a performance baseline, and to identify existing or potential environmental deficits. The second is the development of a Commerce City "Sustainable Community Strategic Plan." The goal of the plan is to educate, engage and motivate the public/private sector employees, private citizens and business and industry leaders to implement energy audits, energy efficiency programs and retrofits, and emissions reductions and other enduring sustainability programs on a voluntary and community-wide basis. In addition, the project will also aim at creating economic activity and workforce development as a consequence of implementing EECBG programs and strategies.
