The Nonproliferation Technologies Section is developing the Rocket Deployed Air Sampler (RDAS) system for deployment at various locations off the Savannah River Site. The RDAS system development effort is part of the National Nuclear Security Administration Proliferation Detection Program funded through the Department of Energy's Office of Nonproliferation Research and Development (NA-22). The scope of the RDAS development effort includes the design and development, testing, and field operation of several small air sampling payloads deployed on Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) large model rockets.
