CX(s) Applied: B2.5, B5.1
Office(s): Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Golden Field Office
The State of Texas's State Energy Program (SEP) Grant for their Alternative Fuels and Technology Program will enable new equipment purchases and installations of compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, Ethanol-85, and bio-diesel tanks within existing fueling stations on previously disturbed/public owned lands. The goal of the program is to create an alternative fuel infrastructure for city, county, and state owned vehicles. The program will also provide funding for the conversion of existing vehicles and/or funding for the incremental cost of the upgrade to a new Alternative Fuel vehicle, enabling them to run on ethanol, natural gas, and/or bio-diesel. This program will create or retain jobs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and decrease our dependence on foreign oil.
