IBM Corporation (IBM) is proposing to use American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding through Department of Energy to conduct research and development (R&D) activities of two novel cooling technologies that will reduce the energy demand by a typical data center for server cooling to 5 percent of the total energy consumed. In addition to R&D, a commercialization study of the system will be conducted.
