Environment Team 2 implements long-term surveillance and maintenance (LTS&M) at Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)/Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) sitesFormerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) sites, and DOE Defense Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) Program sites transferred to LM to ensure sustainable protection of human health and the environment.  The team actively transitions sites from DOE Office of Environmental Management (EM) and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) with comprehensive stakeholder interaction and planned disposition of government owned properties.  The team enhances remedies and improves technological treatment processes through diligence and commitment to safe end-state conditions while also ensuring the work is completed in a safe, compliant manner.  Team 2 also coordinates and conducts technical exchanges and engagement with foreign visitors, community leaders, elected officials, and local stakeholders through site tours, presentations to professional organizations (IAEA, American Nuclear Society, Mound Science and Energy Museum Association, etc.), media interviews, and public meetings. In addition, the team serves on cross-cutting work groups to support the Office of Legacy management in a myriad of management initiatives.
