Hanford site waste has contaminated the groundwate through various migration paths. The Department, through its Richland Operations Office, has initiate a Hanford's Groundwater Management Plan which includes, amoung other activites, decommissioning wells at the Hanford Site in order to prevent additional contaminats from reaching the groundwater.
