Review of the Fire Protection Program at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the Fire Suppression System at the Radiochemical Processing Laboratory.

This report documents the results of an independent oversight review of the fire protection program at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and the fire suppression system at the Radiochemical Processing Laboratory.  The review was performed March 18-29, 2013, by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Safety and Emergency Management Evaluations, which is within the DOE Office of Health, Safety and Security.  The review was performed as one part of an ongoing targeted assessment of the management of safety systems at sites that have hazard category 1, 2, and 3 facilities.
